We're Hiring! Bathroom Design & Sales Consultant
Elegant Bathrooms | Stoney Creek, Ontario
Creative freedom, good coffee, great people, and a place to make your own.
Some workplaces want you to follow the playbook.
We're looking for someone who might want to help write it.
We're Elegant Bathrooms, a locally owned bathroom renovation and design showroom in Stoney Creek. And while we take our work seriously, we don't believe everything about work needs to be so serious.
We're looking for someone who's creative, curious, takes ownership of their work, and genuinely enjoys working with people.
Someone who loves great design, gets excited about possibilities, and finds satisfaction in helping someone turn an idea into something real.
You might already be an experienced kitchen and bath designer. You might be starting your design career. Or you might be coming from an entirely different industry with an eye for design and a natural ability to connect with people.
We're open to all of those possibilities.
But before we get into what we're looking for, here's a little about what it's actually like to work here.
Your creativity isn't going to be put in a box.
We love a good idea. Even better if it's one we haven't seen before.
Here, you'll have the freedom to explore your own design style, introduce new products, and present ideas you're genuinely excited about.
Of course, great design still needs to work in the real world. There are budgets, timelines, practical considerations, and clients who ultimately need to love what you're creating.
But we're not interested in telling you that every bathroom needs to look a certain way.
We want to see what you can bring to the table.
You'll do more than design. You'll help make it happen.
There's something special about sitting down with a homeowner, listening to what they love (and don't love) about their bathroom, and helping them imagine what it could become.
You'll be part of that journey, from the first conversation and design ideas to selecting products, presenting solutions, and helping clients confidently move forward with their renovation. And yes, sales is part of the job.
But we're not interested in high-pressure sales tactics.
We believe great sales happen when you listen, understand what matters to someone, build trust, and help them find the right solution.
We want someone who enjoys the creative process but also gets excited when a client says, "Let's do it!"
Because a beautiful design is wonderful.
Seeing it become someone's new bathroom? Even better.
If you have a better way of doing something, we're listening.
Ever worked somewhere and thought, "Why on earth are we still doing it this way?
"Yeah, we're not big fans of that either.
We're a small company, which means there's room to experiment, rethink processes, try new tools, and make things better.
We're even developing new technology to make designing, estimating, and planning bathrooms easier. If you have an idea that could save time, improve the client experience, or make everyone's day a little easier ,we want to hear it.
You won't just be stepping into a position. You'll have the opportunity to help shape it.
We believe curiosity is a pretty great quality.
We like people who like learning.
Not just because it makes you better at your job, but because we think there's something wonderful about people who are interested in growing.
Whether it's learning new design software, discovering a product, improving your communication skills, or reading a book that changes the way you think, we encourage it.
And we think making time to learn is just as important as making time to do.
You don't have to know everything when you arrive.
But you should enjoy figuring things out.
We're a little bit like a family.
Not in the corporate "we're all family here" kind of way.
More in the we eat lunch together, know what's going on in each other's lives, occasionally have a sushi party, and genuinely enjoy each other's company kind of way.
We're a small team. We laugh, we share stories, we help each other out, and we spend enough time together that we think enjoying the people you work with matters.
And while we have responsibilities, schedules, and expectations, we also recognize that life happens outside of work.
We're people first, and we try to treat each other that way
Our clients are pretty wonderful, too.
We care a lot about the people who trust us with their homes.
We're not interested in pushing products just to make a sale.
We want to understand our clients, create something that genuinely suits them, and make the renovation experience a positive one.
Over time, those relationships become something special.
Some clients even pop back into the showroom just to say hello and have an espresso.
Which brings us to another important point...
The coffee is really, really good.
We have an espresso machine.
It's available to you.
And yes, we consider that a workplace perk.
So, what would you actually be doing?
Every day will be a little different, but you'll have the opportunity to:
- Meet with homeowners and learn about their renovation goals, design preferences, and budgets.
- Help clients explore bathroom layouts, materials, colours, finishes, and products.
- Develop creative and functional design solutions that fit real homes and real budgets.
- Guide clients through product selections and purchasing decisions.
- Prepare and present design concepts, estimates, and proposals using our tools and processes.
- Build genuine client relationships and help turn exciting ideas into confirmed projects.
- Collaborate with our project management and installation teams to make sure designs are practical and achievable.
- Stay curious about new products, design trends, and better ways of doing things.
- Bring your own ideas and personality to the showroom and the way we work.
And don't worry. We don't expect you to know how to do everything on day one. We'll help you learn our products, systems, and approach to bathroom renovations.
You might be exactly who we're looking for.
Maybe you've worked in kitchen and bath design for years.
Maybe you're an interior design graduate looking for somewhere to grow.
Or maybe you're coming from a completely different industry, but you've always had an eye for design, a love of beautiful spaces, and a natural ability to connect with people.
We're open to all of those possibilities.
Experience is wonderful, but so are curiosity, initiative, creativity, and a genuine desire to learn.
What matters most to us is finding someone who:
- Loves design and enjoys turning ideas into something real.
- Makes people feel comfortable, listened to, and understood.
- Enjoys helping clients make decisions and feels good about earning their business.
- Takes ownership of their work and follows through on commitments.
- Has an eye for detail and appreciates both beauty and functionality.
- Is organized, resourceful, and comfortable learning new technology.
- Brings a positive attitude and enjoys being part of a small, collaborative team.
- Can balance creativity with budgets, timelines, and practical considerations.
If you have experience with bathroom renovations, interior design, cabinetry, tile, plumbing fixtures, or showroom sales, that's fantastic. If you don't, but believe you have the qualities we're looking for, we'd still love to hear from you. We're willing to invest in teaching the right person. What we can't teach is genuine enthusiasm, curiosity, and the desire to do great work.
Let's talk about compensation.
We believe great people deserve to be rewarded for the value they bring.
We also recognize that not everyone is motivated by the same compensation structure.
Some people prefer the security of a stronger base salary.
Others enjoy the opportunity to earn more through commissions and performance incentives.
We're open to discussing a combination that works for both of us, based on your experience, skills, and the contribution you can make.
What matters most to us is finding the right person, building a great working relationship, and creating an opportunity where we can grow together.
A final thought.
We're not going to tell you that every day is perfect, that there are no stressful moments, or that you'll never have to deal with a tricky project. That's just not realistic.
But we can tell you that there's room here to be creative, to learn, to contribute ideas, to build relationships, and to make the role your own.And we think that's worth something.
If you've been looking for somewhere you can do good work, enjoy the people around you, and feel like you're part of something rather than just filling a position, we'd love to hear from you.
Interested? We'd love to meet you.
Send us your résumé and a little about yourself to [info@elegantbathrooms.ca].Tell us what caught your attention about this opportunity and what excites you about helping people create beautiful spaces.
And if you have a portfolio, we'd love to see what you've been creating.
