Protect the time you want to spend outside

The zoo’s October entry window ends before visitors have to leave. That gives a late arrival some time, but not the same outing as an unhurried morning. Count the hours your group can comfortably spend walking and looking, then choose the ticket and purchase route that fit the actual visit.

Entry closing and visitor exit are different

The zoo’s 2026 table lists September 8 through October 31 entry hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors must exit by 5:30 p.m. Arriving at 4 p.m. is not the same as having a full day. Use the time your family actually has rather than dividing a ticket price by an imagined all-day stay.

October admission is $19 for ages nineteen to fifty-nine, $18 for ages thirteen to eighteen and sixty-plus, $16 for ages three to twelve and free for ages zero to two. A five per cent fee applies to tickets purchased at the entrance building. The checked table does not state that every other purchase route has no charge.

November is not a daily opening schedule

The next listed daytime dates are November 1 and 2, 5 through 9, 12 through 16 and 19 through 23. They run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with visitor exit at 5 p.m. Rates change too. A habit of visiting on any weekday in October cannot be carried forward without checking the date.

The benefit of using the official table is knowing both the season and the actual day. The limit is that a general “open in fall” description misses closures and shorter time. Choose the date, compare the full ticket total and plan clothing for an outdoor visit. No animal sighting, indoor access route or weather condition is promised here.

Save the zoo for weather your group can enjoy

An older Moncton rainy-visit discussion suggested indoor activities first and the zoo if the weather improved. That is a useful autumn choice. A shorter day and wet clothing can change a family outing, even when the zoo is operating. Pick a realistic time and keep an indoor alternative available.

A zoo visit is still a walk

A May 2024 visitor thread strongly praised the zoo as a pleasant walk as well as a place to see animals. An older July 2022 fall-trip discussion also suggested it for families but was uncertain about nearby summer attractions. The toddler rainy-day discussion made a useful distinction: save the zoo for a break in the weather and use an indoor activity when that better suits the group. These are older experiences, not a claim about animal activity or today’s conditions.

That helps with an October decision. Choose the zoo if everyone is prepared to spend time outside, move between areas and enjoy looking even when an animal is not where a photograph suggested it would be. A fixed animal wish list and a short arrival window can make the day feel rushed. A slower plan with time to pause is a different outing from trying to fit the zoo into the gap before another booking.

Use the whole ticket total, then protect the time

Two adults aged nineteen to fifty-nine and two children aged three to twelve total $70 at the posted October base rates. With the stated five per cent entrance-building fee, that becomes $73.50. This calculation shows why the purchase route matters when comparing a family outing. It does not assume another sales channel is fee-free; read its final checkout total too.

For November, put the actual opening date in the plan before choosing a meal or drive. Selected opening days and a 5 p.m. visitor exit are different from October’s daily table and 5:30 p.m. exit. The zoo, illusion, spa and winery have separate operations even though they share the Magnetic Hill area name. One venue being open is not a reliable calendar for its neighbour.
